i am enjoying the discussion about el filibusterismo now.. i have learned to understand the messages of each chapter and to analyze each character.. haha.. the character that i like most is placido penitente.. he the epitome of a good student, haha.. our teacher said the his name means "silently suffering" or "quiet sufferer".. hehe.. i also like padre camorra,. hehe..

here's my ateneo essay.. hope you'll like it. haha.
Are you alive? Most likely, people will say "Yes!" First, you are breathing. Your heart is beating. You can walk. You can sing. You can dance. But, the signs that you are alive are not just those that could be diagnosed by doctors or measured by medical equipment. The real sign of being alive is giving life to others. A person can only be considered living if he has given his life to others; if he inspires the life of others; if he has set good examples and his good deeds live on.
Giving life to others… This is my ultimate goal since I was a child. Inspiring others through my good deeds, helping others turn from their bad ways, all of these have been my purpose of living.
Since I became the coordinator of Altar Servers in our parish, I devoted myself in shaping my colleagues into a better person. At my very young age, I have shown them the way to live, to love and to obey like Jesus.
My ability to touch the lives of others is not just confined in our parish. It goes beyond the limits. I can also do it in school. Helping my classmates with their problems, maybe it about school or family.
These experiences made me a better person. These experiences completed me as a person. These experiences are my best ways of giving life to others. These experiences make and keep me alive.
In the same way, many would pass a medical examination with the heart beating strongly, with normal blood pressure and the brain working at its best. The question is: Are you able to give life to others? If you do be glad that you really are alive! I am glad that I am alive! But if you don’t, the doctors may say that you are alive but you may have died long ago!

haha.. i am not in my mind when i wrote that essay. haha. that is really the other side of me.. :P
